Having educational resources and opportunities for performers, Directors, and Instructors is crucial to the success of groups. We want to ensure every ensemble has the tools and knowledge they need to succeed in this activity. As the Education Program Coordinator, Ms. Barton will lead the Education Committee, a vital part of our organization, to help organize and plan Educational opportunities for CWEA throughout the season, including the Education Summit, Mentor Program, and Education email updates.
Ms. Barton, a native of Greenwood, IN, retired in 2022 from the color guard director position at Rouse HS in Leander, TX, and also served as the color guard coordinator at James Bowie HS in Austin, TX. This follows a 20-year career in the Carolinas, Florida, Georgia, and Texas, working with numerous scholastic and independent performing ensembles, including Byrnes HS, East Coweta HS, Origins Winter Guard, The Cast Winter Guard, Etude Winter Guard, Pacific Crest Drum Corps, Spirit of Atlanta Drum Corps and Phantom Regiment Drum Corps. In addition, Jen is a freelance choreographer, educator, adjudicator, and consultant throughout the country - working both in-person and virtually to provide color guard and winds choreography, costume and flag design, and other design services. Her extensive experience and expertise will undoubtedly have a significant and positive impact on our organization.
We are thrilled to have Ms. Barton as our Education Program Coordinator and can't wait for her Education contributions for the 2025 season and beyond.
