Mentor Program

The CWEA Mentor Program was created as part of the CWEA Education Committee to connect experienced members of the circuit with those who are either new to directing indoor ensembles or experienced directors who are new to the CWEA circuit. The goal of the Mentor Committee is to provide guidance, support, and resources to help new directors and staff members navigate their first few years as unit directors. By pairing experienced instructors with newer members, we aim to foster collaboration, share knowledge that enhances the experience for all performers, and ensure that every ensemble has the tools needed to succeed.

For New Directors: Welcome! We are excited that you have decided to join our circuit. If you would like to be assigned a mentor for the upcoming season, please complete the Google Form by clicking 'Request Mentorship' below. You will be matched with a mentor who has extensive experience and knowledge in your designated indoor classification and will serve as your primary point of contact for navigating all things CWEA this year.

For Mentors: Mentors help connect new members with the information and guidance they need to be successful throughout the indoor season. This includes providing educational resources such as circuit information, rules and regulations, and adjudication guidance, as well as serving as a point of contact for questions about navigating the CWEA circuit, administrative responsibilities, and show sites. Whenever possible, mentors are paired with newer directors in their same geographical area to encourage collaboration and strengthen community between ensembles.
