These materials apply to all CWEA units and serve as your primary reference for policies, forms, timing guidelines, and registration requirements. Directors and staff can use these documents throughout the season for planning, compliance, and administrative support. Additional resources will be added as they become available, including results and adjudication materials accessed through CompetitionSuite.

These resources provide division focused materials for directors, staff, and adjudicators. Each section includes guidelines specific to Color Guard, Percussion, and Winds. FAQ: For Directors & Staff
Registration takes place in Competition Suite. You can use the blue “Register” button at the top right of the website or visit our Registration Guide page for a step-by-step walkthrough.
All groups must complete the required participation documents listed in the Resources section, including the Participating Group Master Agreement, insurance requirements, and applicable school documentation.
The review process follows the guidelines outlined in the CWEA Policy Manual. The Classifications Committee Chair will notify you if your group is under review for reclassification or promotion and will follow up once a decision has been made. Contest results are posted on the event page at the conclusion of each event. You can also find results under Events > Past Events & Scores.
FAQ: For Spectators & Families
Tickets are available online through each Event Page. CWEA utilizes GoFan. Go to Events > Upcoming Events > Select your event > Buy Event Tickets.
Schedules are posted on the individual Event Pages. Draft performance schedules are available three weeks prior to the contest date, with final schedules posted the Tuesday before the event. If last-minute changes are needed, Directors will be notified through Competition Suite via text or email.
Plan to arrive at least fifteen to twenty minutes before the scheduled performance time. This allows time for parking, walking to the venue, and finding your seat before performances begin.
Please wait to enter or exit only between performances. Doors are held during each performance to avoid distractions for the performers.
Audience members are welcome to cheer and applaud before and after each performance. Please use your best judgement during performances so that applause does not create a distraction for the performers.
Photography and video are prohibited unless otherwise stated.
No. Please keep those at home. Noise makers can be disruptive to performers, and we want to ensure a pleasant and safe environment for all.
FAQ: For New Members & Community Supporters
The Carolina Winter Ensemble Association is the governing body for indoor Color Guard, Percussion, and Winds ensembles across the southeast. CWEA provides adjudication, events, education, and community support for participating groups.
Volunteer opportunities are announced throughout the season on social media and on the CWEA website. Many host schools also welcome volunteers for their events.
